C-RAC Statement on Changing Accreditors
On December 6, 2023, the Council of Regional Accrediting Commissions (C-RAC) issued a statement regarding changing accreditors. According to the statement:
C-RAC believes that states should not mandate policies that require a change in accreditor for institutions. Institutions should be able to consider the accreditor that best suits its institutional goals and values from among those recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
The statement notes that Guidance regarding a change in accreditor issued by the United States Department of Education (USDE) must be followed by both institutions and accreditors.

MSCHE President Dr. Heather F. Perfetti was named Vice Chair of C-RAC in 2022.
